Follow these steps to open, verify, and fund your Deriv account — then connect it to the MCFX robot.

How to open a Deriv account

Your Deriv account must be created through our affiliate link so it is tied to MCFX — this is how the robot gets provisioned to you.

  1. Click the button below — it opens Deriv with our affiliate link.
  2. On Deriv, click Create free demo account / Sign up and register with your email address.
  3. Verify your email — Deriv sends a confirmation link; click it.
  4. Once logged in, open the Trader's Hub and click Get a real account.
  5. Choose USD as your account currency and complete the short profile form.
  6. Copy your real account login ID (starts with CR for real or VRTC for demo) — you'll need it for MCFX integration.

Proof of Address & account verification

Deriv requires verification (KYC) before withdrawals. Do it early — it takes 1–3 business days to review.

  1. Log in to Deriv → click your profile icon → Settings → Account → Verification.
  2. Proof of Identity (POI): upload a clear photo of your National ID card, NIN slip, international passport, or driver's licence. The name must match your Deriv profile exactly.
  3. Proof of Address (POA): upload a utility bill (NEPA/PHCN, water), bank statement, or government-issued letter showing your full name and residential address. The document must be dated within the last 6 months.
  4. Ensure photos are clear, uncropped, and all four corners of the document are visible.
  5. Submit and wait — approval status shows under Settings → Verification. You'll get an email when it's done.
  6. If rejected, check the reason shown (usually blur, expiry, or address mismatch) and re-upload.

How to fund your Deriv wallet using NGN (bank transfer)

Deriv now supports direct NGN local bank transfer for Nigerians — straight from your bank app, no agents needed.

  1. Log in → open the Cashier → Deposit.
  2. Under Bank, choose Bank Transfer (or Local Bank Transfer) and select NGN.
  3. Pick your bank from the supported list (GTBank, Zenith, Access, UBA, etc.) and enter the amount.
  4. Deriv shows you the transfer details — send the money from your bank app/USSD exactly as instructed, keeping the reference.
  5. Your Deriv wallet is credited once the transfer clears — usually within minutes to a few hours.
  6. Always initiate the deposit inside your Deriv Cashier — never send money to account details someone gave you outside Deriv.

If bank transfer isn't showing for your account yet, the payment agents option in Cashier also accepts NGN bank transfer.

How to transfer from your wallet to your trading account

Deposits land in your USD wallet — the robot trades from your MT5 trading account, so you must move the money across.

  1. Open Cashier → Transfer.
  2. From: select your Deriv USD wallet.
  3. To: select your Deriv MT5 (Standard / Synthetic / Swap-free) account.
  4. Enter the amount and confirm — transfers between your own accounts are instant and free.
  5. The balance now shows in your MT5 account, ready for the MCFX robot to trade.

How to open a Synthetic (swap-free) MT5 account

The MCFX robot trades Deriv synthetic indices (like Volatility 75) on MT5. You need an MT5 account for it.

  1. Go to Trader's Hub → scroll to CFDs → find Deriv MT5.
  2. Click Open / Get next to the account type — choose Standard (Synthetic) or Swap-free if shown for your region.
  3. Set an MT5 password when prompted — keep it safe.
  4. Deriv creates the account instantly and shows your MT5 login ID (e.g. MT… or CR…-linked) and server name (e.g. Deriv-Server).
  5. Save these details — this MT5 login ID is what you enter on MCFX integration.
  6. Synthetics trade 24/7 — no market close, no weekend gaps, and swap-free accounts carry no overnight interest.

How to withdraw your trading profit

Withdrawals go back the same route deposits came in — and your account must be verified first.

  1. Cashier → Transfer: move funds from your MT5 account back to your USD wallet.
  2. Cashier → Withdraw: choose Bank Transfer — NGN lands directly in your Nigerian bank account.
  3. Enter your bank details and the amount, then confirm.
  4. Deriv emails you a verification link — click it to approve the withdrawal.
  5. The NGN arrives in your bank account — usually within minutes to 48 hours.
  6. Keep some balance in MT5 if you're staying subscribed — the robot needs margin to keep trading for you.
